During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed a lot of customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, because the need for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, when the demand for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. For example, Genie went into production with light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, stick booms and telehandlers.
Because of the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to secure a partner who held the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the early years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing exceptional support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
The DC and Bi-Energy equipment offered by Genie offers quiet operation, emission-free even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machinery must be driven significant distances, like for example within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machine together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
As opposed to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach overall. These machines are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These equipment provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the work site and job area.
