Operator Environment
Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The particular design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The main objective is to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is gently rounded and really comfortable. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential info, so as to keep the operator working as effectively as possible.
Noise levels and vibration controls are kept low thanks to the insulated mounting on the chassis. To be able to maintain an optimal working position, the hydraulic controls and operator seat are all independently adjustable. Moreover, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 multi-functioned ergonomically positioned and easy to operate levers that are provided for the window washers, horn, windscreen wipers and gear changing.
A ventilation/heating unit guarantees a comfy cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for defrosting, recirculation, heating and cooling. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all within easy reach. The standard instruments that include: warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Furthermore, gauges display values for gearbox oil pressure, engine coolant, operating time and fuel quantity.
One of the key options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks could be equipped with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This allows for easy supervision of the model. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors which happen and their current values.
