A lift truck is an important piece of machinery in the material handling industry. Also referred to as a powered industrial truck, a lift truck is utilized to carry and transport materials from one location to another. These types of trucks transformed the manufacturing and the warehousing businesses. Nowadays they are considered to be essential for material handling and are utilized for a huge array of applications.

The lift truck requires an operator who utilizes the control levers to transport loads and supplies around the worksite, normally a factory or warehouse. Businesses that own their own lift trucks should maintain the equipment to make sure they have a long lifespan. Forklift parts, like any machinery components, are prone to wear and tear and will become worn over time. In order to make sure the forklift functions in an efficient and safe manner, you must replace worn or damaged parts occasionally. Each forklift truck part is made for a particular purpose. Below is a list of a few lift truck attachments and their tasks:

Forklift Fork Positioner: The hydraulic attachment called forklift fork positioner helps to position the forks. Tines can move both separately or at the same time. Without the forklift fork positioner, the forklift operator needs to adjust forklift forks by hand for different sizes of loads.

Side Shifter: The hydraulic side shift attachment enables the operator to laterally shift both the forklift forks and the backrest. This particular attachment makes it really easier to position the load without having to change the truck's position.

Pole Attachments: These long metal poles are designed to carry carpet rolls. The poles work better for this purpose than forklift forks.

Telescopic Forklift Forks: Telescoping blades are hydraulic attachments which allow the operator to both unload and load from a single side. The telescoping forks could handle two pallets of various sizes at the same time. This type of attachment is great for handling pallets in 'double deep racking'.
