How to Charge a Scissor Lift
A lot of individuals appreciate the ease of using a scissor lift. The ease of working and the security offered from the lift's basket offer a lot more piece of mind than attempting to complete a similar task utilizing the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machinery make it the right choice for completing tasks from heights.
Nearly all scissor lifts are operated by batteries that are internally mounted in the lift's base. These batteries need to be charged after a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This could be done without any specialized tools or equipment and requires no heavy labor.
The machine has to be parked near an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging place should also be in a well-ventilated area. After that, in order to avoid another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the big red button found inside the lift basket, near the charger or the control box. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Normally, older units would have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.
Next, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be sure you are charging in a place which is well ventilated and then plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. In order to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area while in use, extreme danger could potentially occur.
