In order to be a successful model, a lift truck needs to be strong enough to last in all working environments for numerous hours of use. It must be able to transport loads efficiently and quickly too. The equipment should also be both ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain needs the power to continually provide great strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with extremely tough shafts and strong gears. The steer axle, drive, engine and transmission are all isolated in order to reduce noise and vibration inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These machines provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimum repair or adjustment. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which reduce wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Within the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engines, a high compression ratio offers exceptional torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The regular Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts that maximize resistance to rough driving. The durable clutch packs offer 3 times the life of preceding packs. Lastly, there is available electronic inching which adjusts automatically so as to lessen maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system utilizes a computer-controlled power reversal that extends tire life, minimizes shock loading and increases durability. As well, the auto deceleration feature lessens brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is made for added strength with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This particular component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are entirely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. In addition, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made many ergonomic features and safety features part of their standard packages. These types of equipment would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both comfortable and safe for the length of their shift.
