Kinds of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These equipments are able to turn in an aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are several aisle widths to take into account with various units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet places, while some will utilize certain guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks consist of Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common models in tight retail spaces and in several warehouse and storage situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks could work in aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up models like for example Reach Trucks. They are usually used in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is designed to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is very spacious and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and thus more effective while limiting fatigue.
