Different Types of Aerial Lift
A specialized type of heavy machine which enables an individual to be raised into the air is aerial lifts. These machines are typically utilized to perform repairs on areas which are high up in the air like on roofs, near street-light fixtures and power lines. Similar to nearly all tools, there are different kinds of aerial lifts that can be utilized to carry out various tasks. For the utmost safety, every kind of different kind of machine needs right training and specific qualifications before operation.
Scissor Lifts
Genie lifts are a different name for scissor lifts. These machinery are the most basic kind of aerial lift available. These lifts are made of a platform which is raised up by means of pneumatic power and are mainly used indoors. Usually, scissor lifts are the safest type of lift models. When totally compressed, these scissor lifts are capable of being driven similar to big carts. Normally, when the platform is extended, they could not be driven for safety reasons. Before anybody could use these devices, employees must be certified as operators.
Boom Lifts
Compared to a scissor lift, boom lifts are a lot more complex type of aerial lift machinery. A boom lift has a wide base in order to keep the lift anchored. It uses a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket that enables the operator to lower and hoist the bucket. Because the arm of the boom is jointed, it can also move from side to side. The boom lift looks like a metal scorpion's tail. Traditionally, it is utilized in construction applications outdoors. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to operate compared to scissor lifts, thus, operators must be certified separately for these types of lifts.
