Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are one of the most frequently used types of crane in the construction industry. They are used to make everything from freeway overpasses and roadways to buildings and skyscrapers.
There is a large range of crane units, styles and sizes available on the market. There are lots of different kinds in order to serve a variety of different reasons within the industry. Choosing the best kind of crane is essential for making sure that the material could be safely and efficiently moved to the location it needs to get to in order for the construction process to commence.
Truck Cranes
Usually, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are really useful for building locations where a crane is needed in numerous different places for the duration of the build. This is due to the fact that the crane is capable of being easily driven from one location to another.
Additionally, the cranes can be transported to various construction sites on the road as they can drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own really reduces transport expenses at the end of the day.
The truck crane on the other hand is not stable enough to handle all the major loads which a hydraulic crane could handle. Hence, in order to fix this problem, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers make use of hydraulic pressure in order to lift the truck slightly off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has large tracks on the bottom of the crane. These huge tracks are very similar to bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks enable the crane to move around a construction site successfully.
